Author Biography: Sandra A. Martin, MS, LMSW
Sandra A. Martin, MS, LMSW, is the founding director of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) in Austin and the Center for Child Protection in Travis County, as well as a founding member of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas. Sandra served as the Executive Director of the Center for Child Protection beginning in 1991 and retired as CEO Emeritus in 2012, after which she transitioned to Professional Consultant for the Tomorrow’s Child Foundation.
For more than 40 years, Sandra has had a significant role in improving the care of child victims of sexual and physical abuse throughout the state of Texas. She has experience in work with abused children, juvenile delinquency, emergency shelter, parenting education, early childhood development, volunteer services, non-profit administration and crime victim services.
